Last week, Sharon Hearne Smith and myself drove all the way up to Navan to visit a very special friend and her lovely class. We both had worked with Louise Cole for many years on an assortment of wierd and wunderful food and non food projects. But she has moved up to Navan and works on an education programme for early school leavers. So as part of their 8 week summer programme we went up to show them another side of the food industry. They have cookery lessons and Louise is educating them about food, health and nutricion. We were there just to show how it is all minuplated and enhanced to make it look good for photography. To chat about the buisness side and to generally show these young adults there is lots of strange jobs out there, that few know, let alone think about. We had a great day and our willing assistants seemed to enjoy it too. There was little of the crostini, the lemon and homey chicken let alone the pavlovas left, so at least Sharon did a good job. Me, i was just there to provide the lighting, a few flashes and laugh at Sharons jokes, which i had to do each, in the right places, at the right time, got a bit confused, but worked out well in the end. Harry.
